Michael Jacob Lounsbury of Montgomery, NY, a lifelong resident of the area passed away, Monday, April 22, 2024, in Montgomery. He was 42.
The son of Jeff Lounsbury and Susan Jacobsen, he was born February 18, 1982 in Newburgh, NY. Michael was an avid motorcycle racer beginning at the young age of 7. His passion of the sport led him to obtaining his ProAm license at just 16. He was successful in his racing endeavors, dominating the Thunderdome and earning the title “Dozer”, winning many races including the AMA District 3 Championship earning himself a #1 plate and continuing on to race professionally winning many AMA Pro races. Michael worked in the family business from a young age and continued in construction paving.
Michael is survived by his beloved son, Michael, father, Jeff Lounsbury, mother, Susan Jacobsen, sister Elizabeth Sollecito and husband Joseph. Sister, Paige Lounsbury, nieces Emma and Mila Sollecito, maternal grandmother, Ann Lounsbury and his entire extended family. Michael is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Dennis Lounsbury, maternal grandparents Olav and Doris Catherine Jacobsen and uncles Olav Jacobsen Jr. And Karl Jacobsen.
In fond remembrance, Michael shared a deeply cherished bond with his mother, Susan. Their special connection was a testament to the enduring love and affection they held for each other. God’s Speed 83B.
Visitation will be 2-4 PM, Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY.
