Eric J. Moore of Montgomery, NY, a retired Corrections officer in Wallkill, NY and a longtime resident of the area died Tuesday, August 30, 2016, in Middletown.  He was 57.

The son of the late Joseph and Frances Kindle Moore, he was born October 27, 1958 in Carbondale, PA.

He served in the Army and the Air National Guard having attained the rank of Tech Sergeant. He proudly served during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom Conflicts. Eric retired from the Air National Guard. He also served as a police officer in the Village of Montgomery and Town of Montgomery Police Departments.

Eric was a gentle soul, always smiling with a positive spirit. Family and friends were the most important part of his life.  Eric's kind and generous heart will be remembered by many.

Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St. Walden, NY 12586.

A mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 3, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at Holy Name of Mary Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.

Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery, NY.
