Frederick L Reichle of Wallkill, formerly of Walden passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. He was 90.

The youngest son of Frederick L Reichle and Karoline Rasmussen, Fred served in the Army from 1945 to 1947 acheiving rank of Tech Sargent with the 52nd Signal Battalion.

He was the owner and operator of Fred Reichle Excavating until 1969 and then started Fred Reichle Diesel, which is still in operation today. He retired in 1991.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed the annual fishing trips to Canada and annual hunting trips to the shack above Kaaterskill Falls.

Fred was also very involved with Walden Little League, Allards Corners Busy Boys 4-H Club, as a member of the Shawangunk Reformed Church and as an Elder of the Walden Reformed Church.

He was married to Vanita Doolittle. He is survived by children: Lisa Reichle, Fred Reichle (Eileen), Leslie Masker (Levi) and Charlie Reichle (Marianne); grandchildren: Alfie Ford and son Alex, Karoline Ford and daughter Leslie, Jamie Ford, Danielle Stroop (Brook) and sons Kaigan, Keegan, daughter Keara, Levi Masker (Lindsay), Jacob Masker (Kristin), Kathryn Masker, Amanda Reichle and son Seth and Charlie Reichle.

After Vanita passed, Fred married June Smith. He is survived by her four children and their families.

He was predeceased by his brother Julien and sisters Trine Bennett, Kathryn Knibbs and Olive Poradish. He is survived by sister Frances Roux.

Dad enjoyed his neighbors and his dear friends Dave and Trudi Sumstead. He leaves behind his Shih Tzu and loyal companion Fred-Lee.

Fred was a loving, generous father who always adored his entire family. He will be missed and never forgotten.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 5-8 pm. at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St.Walden, NY.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY. Rev. James O'Connell will officiate.

Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY.
