Chester H. Dunn of Walden, NY, a lifelong resident of the area died Monday, August 14, 2017, at home.  He was 96.
 
Chet was born February 6, 1921 in the town of Montgomery to Chester and Elizabeth Dunn. In 1932 the family moved to the 111 Browns Rd. farm that became his lifelong home. 
He was a graduate of Walden High School and joined the  Merchant Marines soon after. For a good many years he spent time at sea but always returned to the farm late summer to help bring in hay and the fall corn harvest with his father. 
In the 1950s he developed a love for real estate and helping people find a home. He was selfemployed for a good many years until the early 1970s, when he became RJ Smith's first salesman/broker. He remained active in real estate into his early 80s and remained an avid traveler his entire life. He met many people in his work and travels that became lifelong friends. He often hosted large dinner parties and picnics in the front lawn at the farm.
He is survived by his cousin Elizabeth of Maryland and second cousins Linda of Iowa and John of Texas. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother Kenneth.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm, Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the farm.
