Edward C. Blaustein of Wallkill, NY (Town of Shawangunk) passed away early Friday, March 31, 2017 in the company of loved ones.  Born January 29, 1935 to Rein and Martha Blaustein, Ed was raised and he lived his life on the family farm where he raised his family.  He served in the US Navy from 1952-1955 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.  Ed had a strong work ethic and believed in community service.  He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing when he could.  While running his own business, Ed only took four holidays a year, opening day of deer season was one of them.  He is survived by his four children, Chris Blaustein, Cathy Fazio, Carol and her husband George Scofield, and Martin Blaustein and his wife Chunli.  He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 12 great grand children, and a community of friends.  His sweetheart Lori May was also with him on his final day.  Ed was 82 when he passed and will be greatly missed.

In accordance with Ed's last wishes a private cremation will take place, and after a period of mourning there will be a celebration of his life with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to the Wallkill Public Library for the enrichment of the young ones he leaves behind.
