I did not have the privilege of knowing Ethan but I am moved to write because of Ethan's obituary - written with such honesty, integrity and encouragement. I pray that the openness of the obituary will speak to the many sons and daughters (and their parents) who struggle with the chains of addiction. We need to understand that our children with addictions and mental health issues (bipolar?) need help and love - not judgment. God bless Ethan's parents and siblings and other family that loved and helped him through times of great challenge. May your frankness challenge others facing the struggles you and Ethan endured to speak out, speak up and make a difference in some young peoples' lives. God bless you and give you His peace.

Rest easy Ethan. I know we don't know each other but I know addiction. My brother Robert was an addict and he fought for many years til h lost his life to another addict in 2009. He is missed greatly just as you will be. Shine bright in Heaven and watch over the weak. 🙏🏻😘

My condolences goes to the family and beloved ones of Ethan. I didn't know him personally but I read his obituary and I wanted to reach out to the family. Death is a terrible thing and is a true enemy. I am sorry that he had to suffer so much during his lifetime. The Bible shows that he is resting like in a deep sleep. John 11:11-14 It is a sleep that only God through Jesus can awaken him. But in that sleep he feels no turmoil or anguish as said in Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10 Truly what a wonderful time that will be when God's promise of swallowing up death will come true! Isaiah 25:8
