Kenneth Jellema Obituary

Kenneth W. Jellema of Walden, NY, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 21, 2019, in Middletown.  He was 69. 

The son of the late Tice and Cornelia Stelpstra Jellema, he was born August 12, 1949 in Goshen.

Kenneth proudly served in the  United States Army from 1969-1971. Ken was a custom cabinet maker with his brother, Aug for many years before he began working for the Village of Montgomery as an MEO. He loved Sprint Car Racing, NASCAR, playing golf and of course the YANKEES! He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as Trustee on Session, the American Legion Post 521 and a Life member of the Montgomery Fire Department.

Son           Shaun Jellema & wife Kristen of Pine Bush
Son           Darin Jellema & wife Sarah of Montgomery
Son           Justin Jellema of Walden
Grandchildren Madison, Ella, Mason, & Noah
Brother       Clarence Jellema & wife Barbara of Arizona
Brother       Calvin Jellema & wife Frieda of Florida
Sister        Faith Ralph & husband David of South Carolina
Many nieces & nephews   
He was predeceased by his brother August Jellema.            

Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 4-7pm at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY. 

A funeral service will take place Monday, February 25, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Pastor Jeromey Howard will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Spagnoli Cancer Center, ORMC, 707 East Main St Middletown, NY 10940, in Ken's memory.
