On December 7th, 2023, Andrew James Levine, aged 72, concluded his earthly journey in Travelers Rest, SC, and began his eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His devoted wife of almost five decades was by his side.
Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1951 to the late Lawrence Levine and Judith Levine Natter, (step-father Sidney Natter), Andrew, fondly known as Andy, enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by family and friends, spending as much time as possible at the beach and enjoying music with his family, especially playing his guitar.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Johanna DuBois Levine, and his cherished children: Sarah Levine of Pennsylvania, Christine Levine of Maryland, Rachel Levine of North Carolina, and David Levine (Vienna) of Florida. He was a proud grandfather to Isaac Stacy, Alilia Levine, Sidni Gray, and Raphael Levine. His siblings, Jon Levine, Margo Cunningham (Patrick), Annie Weschler (Ira), and Ileen Natic (Victor), along with his step-mother Eileen O’Halloran Levine, a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive him.
Andy was born into a Jewish family and faith but later became a Messianic Jew and will forever be remembered for his sheer love for Jesus, his commitment to preaching and teaching the Bible, his fervent prayers for others, and his creative knack for transforming old wood into exquisite masterpieces, and playing his 12 string guitar. His radiant smile, warm greetings, and unique sense of humor will be deeply missed.
An active member of the Christian Assembly Upstate church in Greenville, SC, leading the intercessory prayer group, Andy has also served as a deacon, Bible teacher, and joyfully played his 12 string guitar as part of worship teams in various other churches as his career took him across the east coast.
A proud alumnus of Brooklyn Technical High School, State University College at Cortland, NY, and the Berean School of the Bible, Andy was certified as Reverend Andrew Levine. His faith in and relationship with Jesus were the pillars of his existence. And he loved his family.
Andy had a successful career in machining and engineering, which included roles at Monarch Machine Tool, Okuma America, Kingsbury Tool, National Tool and Machining Association, Superior Technical Ceramics, Flowserve Valves, Saint Gobain, and Myer Tool.
A celebration of Andy's extraordinary life will be held at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St. Walden, NY on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, at 11:00am. His final resting place will be the Bruynswick Rural Cemetery at the Reformed Church of Shawangunk, Wallkill, NY.
