Barbara Ann (Simons) Heiser

Barbara Ann Heiser of Montgomery, NY, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  She was 98.

She was the daughter of the late Orrin and Mary Dobbs Simons.  She was born on December 27, 1924 in Plainfield, New Jersey.  She became the loving wife of Bruce Albert Heiser on October 25, 1952.

Barbara worked as a secretary for Mercedes-Benz in Montvale, New Jersey.  She loved her family, reading, and cooking.  She was active as a school and Girl Scout volunteer.   

She is survived by her daughter, Alice Kwiecinski and husband (Richard) of Montgomery as well as her son, John Heiser and wife (Ruth) of Franklin, Mass.; four grandchildren: Shannon Countryman (Todd), Scott Kwiecinski (Kristy), Brian Heiser (Katrina), and Jennifer Heiser (Calvin); and her great-grandchildren: Amber, Annabelle, Brynn, Landon, Matthew, & William.

The family would like to thank the staff at Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care of Barbara during her stay.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2pm-4pm at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 10am at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice as Barbara believed in contributing to a wide variety of charities.
