Barbara Ann Walker, a beacon of love and joy, returned to her heavenly home on January 2, 2026, surrounded by her family, who will miss her dearly. Born on August 9, 1950 in the Bronx, New York, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Mary and Michael Luczaj.
An angel on this earth, Barbara leaves behind a sister Patricia LaCasse, three wonderful, loving daughters and their families: Theresa Amaturo and her husband Joseph, with grandchildren Matthew and Natalia; Karin Ramos and her husband Aldo, with grandchildren Nicholas and Ava; and Brittney Vaz and her husband Neil, with grandchild Elizabeth. She was a loving wife to her husband of 55 years, James Walker; a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, godmother and friend.
Barbara always lit up a room with her radiant smile and warm presence.
Barbara embraced life with enthusiasm, cherishing time with her family—whether playing golf on sunny afternoons, embarking on memorable vacations, or creating joyful moments with her grandchildren. Everyone who knew her will miss her greatly.
To my dear Barbara: Thank you for sharing your life with me. I will continue to love you more than yesterday but less than tomorrow. —James
Barbara is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Carol Bradley.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Church in New York, on January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM followed by a celebration of life in the church.
