Bernard James Colgan

Bernard James Colgan, a resident of the Hamlet of Wallkill, passed away on December 21, 2022.

He was born on December 26, 1949 in Cornwall, NY, to the late Bernard James and Helen Colgan (nee Cruver). Jim graduated from the Washingtonville School District. Survivors include his wife Betsy, his sons Tyler and Dallas and stepsons Glen and Neal. He is also survived by his grandchildren Wyatt and Elliot and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Jim was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed his hobby of restoring Hot Wheels cars and had a large following of people who loved his restorations. He also enjoyed fishing in his kayak with his sons and going to car shows.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held later in the spring by the family. Donations in his name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org
