Betty passed peacefully, April 26, 2023, at Bridgewater Nursing Home, Binghamton, NY.   She was 97.

The daughter of the late Alonzo and Cleah Booth, she was born August 29, 1925 in Hallstead, PA.

Betty graduated Valedictorian of Class of 1942 Hallstead Borough High School. Following graduation she worked for A&P Tea Co., Binghamton, then IBM, Endicott and New York City.

She is predeceased by her husband Frank Cancellieri and brothers Gordon, Allyn and Ronnie Booth.

Survivors include her sister Carole Smallacombe; her children Francis Cancellieri and Gail Gillespie; her grandchildren Rian Grass, Shawn Gillespie and Erin Gillespie; great-grandchildren Everett and Emilee Grass, Ryder and Bradan Gillespie; several very special nieces and nephews.

Betty took great joy in spending time with family and friends and leaves us with many fond memories.

Thanks to the wonderful staff at Bridgewater Nursing Home for their loving care.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Brick Church Cemetery, Montgomery, NY.
