Brian D. Kaufmann, of Wallkill, NY, a passionate retired Truck Driver for 56 years, known as the “Cannonball”, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Newburgh, NY.
He was raised in the Village of Montgomery, NY growing up at the family owned Kaufmann’s Service Center. He was 68 years old.
The son of the late Rodney "Bub" and Ann Schmidt Kaufmann, he was born on May 29, 1956, in Middletown, NY.
On August 21, 1999, he was united in marriage to Robin Baty in Montgomery, NY.
Brian’s journey brought many wonderful memories & stories of trucking, tractor pulls, motorcycle riding, camping, Germany, forming so many lifelong friendships over the years, he will be greatly missed by so many, especially, his Camping Families and the Montgomery Village Breakfast Club & time with Skip Chambers.
Survived by his wife, Robin, son, Brendan (Brittany) of Wallkill, son, Darren (Kelly) of Pine Bush, NY, step daughter, Maria (Tom) Taylor, Wallkill, NY and his sister, Susan (Paul) Wilson of Montgomery, NY, brother, Brad (Ruth) Kaufmann of Montgomery, NY, sister, Karen (Tod) DuBois of Wurtsboro, NY, Sister-in- law, Stefanie Kaufmann of Montgomery, NY; his Grandchildren, Kacy, Evan, Paxton, Carter, and his expected grandchild due in May. He is also survived, by many extended family members and his two beloved English Bull Dogs, Cooper and Ziva.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Gregory and sister, Marybeth.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 1-4 pm. at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St. Montgomery, NY.
Cremation will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Montgomery Fire Department or Walden Humane Society.
