Charles Garrison Obituary

Charles D. Garrison, Jr. of Wallkill, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the age of 74. Born on November 25, 1949, son of Charles D. and Louise (Miller) Garrison, he is survived by his wife, Mariann, their sons Brandon (Lauren) and Chad (Mary-Katherine), and grandchildren Emily, Elizabeth, Waylon, and Axel. He leaves behind siblings Lola Saya (Stan), Gail Riggins, and Glen Garrison, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was two weeks shy of his 75th birthday and 52nd wedding anniversary to his bride Mariann. He lived for his family.

Chuck was an auctioneer by occupation, but his true passion was farming. Born into a long line of farmers, Chuck worked on his family farm on Plains Road since he was a child. Together until his late father’s passing, they began as dairy farmers and then raised chickens, veal calves, and hogs. After Chuck took over the family farm, he eventually transitioned to raising beef cattle. With a need to fund his farming habit and a great mind for enterprise, Chuck built many successful ventures, both on and off the farm. From rental properties, to operating a Ford dealership in Wallkill, to his many years as a well-respected real estate and auto auctioneer, Chuck was a true entrepreneur and left a great impact on the community.

Though he was a man of few words, he had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He never needed to take credit or attract the spotlight, but he would always drop what he was doing to show up and lend a hand. He was the former president and long-time member of the Wallkill Lions Club and volunteered as the auctioneer for several different benefit auctions.
