Daniel J. Bornander, of Highland, NY, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025 in Poughkeepsie. He was 52.
The son of Ronald Bornander and the late Mary Ann Lynch Bornander, he was born April 6, 1973 in Bronx, NY.
Danny was a telecommunications supervisor for Starry Internet. He served in the United States Army.
Dan was a lifelong sports fan, with a special passion for the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He found great joy in sharing that love through coaching, dedicating countless hours to his children's and nephew's Little League teams. His enthusiasm, patience, and encouragement left a lasting impact on the young athletes he mentored.
He is survived by his son Daniel Bornander II & Ivana Rosado, daughter Amanda Gorman & her husband Christopher, son Joey Bornander & Alyssa Carroll, and their mother Amy Bornander, father and stepmother Ronald & Lucinda Bornander, brother William Bornander & his wife Rachel, sister Eileen Schink, nephews Benjamin, Gabriel, Scotty, Jimmy & Jeff, aunt Peggy Harrigan, uncle and aunt Bob & Maureen Bornander and many cousins and extended family.
He was predeceased by his mother Mary Ann Bornander.
Visitation will take place at 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday August 15th at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.
A service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday the 16th followed by Military Honors.
Cremation will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
