Daniel Owen Hartner

Daniel was born in Kingston, New York and, though his travels took him far and wide, he returned to the Hudson Valley in 2023. As the most adorable baby and little boy, Daniel was the unrivaled joy of the family.  As the baby brother of teenage siblings, all their friends claimed Daniel as their own and he was lavished with attention and love.   

Daniel graduated from Pierson High School in Sag Harbor, New York and hustled as a young man, working at both the hardware store and the docks. Daniel pursued various educational endeavors before joining the United States Air Force in 2018. Daniel’s graduation from basic training was a moment of immense pride for all who supported him. Daniel loved the outdoors, especially the water where you would find him surfing and fishing.  

Daniel passed away unexpectedly and the heartbreak is profound. Daniel is survived by his parents, Ann and Michael Hartner, sister Megan Hartner Mass, brother Andrew Hartner, niece Mara Mass, nephews Elliot and Evan Mass, and a huge extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

Daniel’s memory will be cherished always.
