Joel David “David” Lanspery

David Lanspery of Newburgh, NY, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 at home. He was 82.

The son of the late John and Janet Lanspery, he was born in 1942, in Newburgh, NY. David worked for the Town of Newburgh DPW and Stauffer/Dupont. He was a family man who enjoyed the simple things in life.  He loved a cold Shaefer beer and his radio. He was an animal lover who took in and fed many stray cats in his life. Some of his favorites were Pippy, Blick, Peanut and Tok.

He is survived by his wife Elaine at home. His son David and his wife Pat and his son Darren, brother Robert and his wife Dorothy. His brother in-law Bill and sister in laws Pat and Sylvia, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Jeanne and his brothers John, James, Jeff, Ken and Gary.                                                           

Visitation will take place Friday, February 14, 2025, 10am -11am at Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bona Ventura Ave., Wallkill, NY 12589.

A service will follow at the funeral home at 11am. Pastor Howie Dalton will officiate.

Burial will take place at Modena Rural Cemetery, Modena, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Hudson Animal Aid or Scats of Newburgh.
