Dolores J. Taylor of Tuxedo NY and 66 yr Colden Park resident passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Suffern, NY She was 93. She was born on July 22, 1931 in Newburgh, NY to Daniel and Helen C. O'Rourke.
Dolores retired from Orange County AHRC where she provided services to Disabled Adults. She also worked as a Class Grandmother at the East Coldenham Elementary School and was loving referred to as “Grandma Taylor”.
Survivors include her siblings, Bernard O'Rourke, Newburgh, NY, James O'Rourke, (Carolyn), Wallkill, NY, Kathleen Metzger, (Fred) North Carolina; Children, William D. Taylor (Joyce) New Paltz, NY, Maryann Taylor, Sun City West AZ, Patrick T. Taylor, (Tammy) Prescott, AZ, Jill A. Henry, Montgomery, NY, Thomas J. Taylor, Bloomingburg, NY; 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren and several neices and nephews
Dolores' greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed bringing them together for holidays, family reunions and parties. She loved celebrating her Irish Heritage and enjoyed Irish Festivals and a wonderful trip to Ireland. She also enjoyed camping, walking/hiking, visiting local parks, Majong Games, sitting on her back porch reading. She also enjoyed being a Cub Scout Den Mother.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, J. William Taylor of 35 years, and her siblings, Daniel O'Rourke, Marian O' Rourke, Richard Pascoe, Roy Pascoe. Son, Jeffery J. Taylor, Granddaughter, Emily T. Henry, son-in-law Donald Henry, daughter-in-law Jennifer A.(Doyle) Taylor and life long friends and sisters-in-law, Molly (Marlene) Daley O'Rourke and Kathleen Ferguson O'Rourke.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of the Lake, Newburgh, NY on April 26, 2025, at 10:30am.
Interment will be private and at convenience of the immediate family.
