Donald R. Curtis of Wallkill, NY, a longtime resident of the area passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, in Newburgh. He was 87.
The son of the late Charles Joseph Curtis and Mary Lewis Curtis, he was born May 26, 1934 in Newburgh.
Don worked as a Journeyman Iron Worker out of Local 417, Newburgh, NY. He served in United States Navy. He was a proud multi-rated private pilot and restored several planes and helicopters. He was also an avid animal lover.
Survivors include his wife Patricia A. of Wallkill, NY, Son Col. Donald R. Curtis Jr. Ret. & Maureen of Missouri, Daughters Suzanne Henderson & William of Newburgh, Dawn Marie Kinsley & Brian of Wallkill, Michelle Greco & Frank of Newburgh, Tami Mazzerelli & Mark of Newburgh, and Jodi Lee Casillo & Anthony of Newburgh; Six Grandsons, Seven Granddaughters, Five Great Grandchildren, sister Barbara Jean Revior and many Nieces and Nephews.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter Natalie Susan, five siblings Charles, Dorothy, Mary Jane, William & John, and his beloved dogs Chip, Babe, Spanky and his deer Wobbles.
A graveside service will be Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 10am, in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
