Doreen B. (Blake) Gorton

Doreen B. Gorton of Walden, NY, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4 th 2021 in Newburgh, NY. She was 74. Doreen was born in Goshen, N.Y and raised in Maybrook, N.Y. by her Dad Irvin E. Blake and her Mom Barbara Paszinski Blake. Doreen graduated from Valley Central High School in 1964. Survivors include her husband of 55 years Elwood Bucky Gorton at home, her sisters Nancy Blake Mitchell of Walden N.Y. and Kathleen Blake Shields of Loris, S.C. She also leaves behind a son Gregory Gorton and his wife Alison of Ballston Spa, NY, a daughter Vicki Pelella and her husband Chris Pelella of Wallkill, NY, four grandchildren Andrew, Dominic, Hannah and Alissa, and many other family members, dear friends and loved ones. Doreen owned and operated Wee Ones Daycare for 25 years and stayed in touch with those children who called her Doo Dah. Doreen had a love of animals, especially her Parakeets, gardening, and a love for the holidays. She hosted many holiday dinners we can look back on for years. Doreen’s smile and her kindness will be remembered by many. She often thought of others before herself. She is up in heaven looking down on us smiling as she reunites with those that passed before. When we gather again for an occasion she will be greatly missed.  Her smile and her laugh will be with us forever.

Cremation will take place privately. Memorial visitation will take place Saturday, May 8th, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 pm., at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.
