Doretha A. (Avery) Post

Doretha “Dottie” A. Post of Wallkill, NY, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025. She was 84.

The daughter of the late Roy and Martha (Hornbeck) Avery, she was born May 3, 1941 in Cornwall, NY.

She was a dedicated employee of West Point for 30 years. She was a longtime member of the Walden seniors club and enjoyed attending their meetings. Dottie also enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved dog Molly, going to yard sales, and going on bus trips.

Doretha was the widow of Richard Post Sr.

Doretha is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Langham and her husband Clyde; her
son, Richard Post Jr. and his wife Carol; and her daughter Tammie Johnson and her husband Alan. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Along with her husband and her parents she was predeceased by her siblings.

Cremation will take place privately.
