Elaine (Caserta) Mattiolo passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Anthony and Martha (Cretella) Caserta; she was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 23, 1944.
Elaine met her husband Anthony of fifty-six years in Brooklyn. After starting a family, they moved to Long Island, NY. While raising her family she managed the family business, Dorchrist Jewelry. She was known for her attention to detail and organizational skills.
Elaine especially loved spending time with her cherished grandchildren, baking, camping and staying in Vermont. She loved animals, particularly her faithful companion Serena.
Elaine is survived by her son Christian and wife Cheryl of Long Island, NY. Daughter Doryann and husband James of Montgomery, NY. Her six grandchildren: James, Connor, Tyler, Kristen, Erin and Steven. She is also survived by her “Chunky Monkey”, Serena.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Perla Andin and staff of Maybrook, Willcare, and Hospice of Orange & Sullivan West Team.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 12 at Holy Name of Mary Assumption Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery. Father Patrick Nsionu will officiate the service. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Montgomery.
