Elizabeth “Betty” Brentnall, a longtime resident of Montgomery, NY, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 in Montgomery. She was 83.

The daughter of the late George D. and Catherine Wood, she was born July 14, 1940 in Patterson, NJ.

Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Montgomery, where she served in the Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Horizon Senior Group, Montgomery. Betty graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1958, and later the Bergen Pine School of Practical Nursing in 1959. Betty worked as an LPN in several hospitals and nursing homes in the area.

She was the widow of Norman R. Brentnall 

Survivors include her son Norman r. Brentnall Jr. & Joan, son Robert W. Brentnall, daughter BethAnn Vega & Louis, son Alan Gordon Brentnall & Victoria; grandchildren Jessica, Stephanie, Kelly, Bryana, Robert-John, Aaron, Joshua; brother George B. Wood & Nichole, and extended family 

Along with Norman, she was predeceased by her parents George & Catherine, former companion William H. Scott, and daughter-in-law Barbara Brentnall.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 10am-12pm, at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.

A service will follow at 12pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery, Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Montgomery.
