Faith Katherine (Beattie) Lenihan

 Faith Katherine Lenihan, 83, of Orange County, NY, transitioned peacefully, in the presence of her son, daughter and brother-in-law on December 20, 2025, after her convalescent stay at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen, NY. Born, as the youngest of five children, on June 19, 1942, in Manhattan, and raised in the Bronx, by the late George and Catherine (Duffy) Beattie.

Known to friends and family as 'Bunny', she attended  Sacred Heart Grammar School, graduated from Aquinas High School in 1960, and received an Associates Degree in social services from Rockland Community College.

For 51 years, Faith was the devoted wife of John (Jack) Raymond Lenihan, the two, divided only by his death in 2016. She was the dedicated and loving mother and mother-in-law to John and his wife, Gwynneth, Jim and his wife, Kathy, and her daughter, Kerry.

Faith cherished her role as 'Nanny' to her seven grandchildren and spouses, Andrew and his wife, Caitlin, Meaghan and her husband, Austin, Patrick, Kiera, Anthony, Michael and Sean. Faith was anticipating the role of great grandmother with the imminent arrival of her great granddaughter, Emily Faith, early,  next year. She considered parenting her greatest calling.

Faith was an avid reader, traveler and exercise enthusiast. After her professional years as an executive assistant, she gave time and compassion to caring for the aged in memory care and hospice. She enjoyed long walks and quiet getaway weekends at the house by the lake that she shared with Jack for nearly 20 years.

"Sweet Aunt Bunny" was held in high regard by the 26 nephews and nieces who maintained contact throughout the years. She always remembered everybody's birthday.

Faith is also survived by her sister, Anne, her sister-in-law, Eileen, and her brother-in-law, Richard. Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Ellen and her husband, Joseph DeMato, her brother, Harry and his son, Harry Joseph, her brother, Jim and his wife, Margaret, and her brother-in-law, Hugh Lenihan, her father and mother-in-law, John and Helen Lenihan, and sister-in-law, Joan Derella.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, 4pm-7pm at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 10:30am at Holy Name of Mary Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.

Burial will follow at Warwick Cemetery.
