Frances Lilian Moss

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Lilian Moss. She passed peacefully surrounded by family on 09/27/2024. Fran was born in Frankfurt Germany on March 16th, 1948. Fran and her parents immigrated to America In August 1949.

She lived on East Broadway in Manhattan and then 91st in Brooklyn, NY. She was the oldest of 5 very close children due to the guidance of their parents Helen and David Lefkowitz. She was married to Donald Moss for 57 years and they spent most of their lives  in Middletown NY. Her three children were Robert, Barry & Matthew. She also had 8 Grandchildren.

Frances was a very warm and loving person who always gave all of herself in everything she did. She was always family centered and passed the love of family onto her children. Her biggest pride and joy were her 8 Grandchildren and her very large family. Fran’s favorite place to be was in Mountaindale, NY at her parents’ Summer Home or her Sister Rose’s Second Home sitting around the table gabbing with her family. She felt it gave her a sense of relaxation and joy.

Fran was a huge dog lover. Her dogs over the years always made her feel love and companionship. Some of her companions were Casey, Spirit, Lexi, Shana, and Belle.

She is Preceded in death By David Lefkowitz, Helen Lefkowitz, and Harold Lefkowitz.

She is survived by her husband Donald Moss, Children Robert, Grandchildren Marcus, Zoey, and Kimmie Moss, Barry and Heidi Moss and Grandchildren Victoria and Emiy Moss, Matthew and Krista Moss and Grandchildren Austin, Ethan, and Emersyn Moss.Siblings and families Rose and Charles Rubenstein, Nephews: Jaron, Adam, and Scott Rubenstein;  Abraham, Harriet Lefkowitz, and Nephew: Aaron Lefkowitz; Julie, Steve Finkel, Nephews/Niece Evan, Jenifer, Dylan, and Landon Finkel; Miriam Lefkowitz and Nieces Sarah and Rachel Lefkowitz.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 30th, 2024  at WJCC/ CONGREGATION BETH HILLEL Cemetery 1577 State Route 52, Walden, NY,12586.        

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association or the Humane Society of the United States.
