Gaetano P. Mazzella

Gaetano P. Mazzella, “Guy”, passed away in his home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was surrounded by his mom Rita Mazzella, Karin Aprea and sister Linda Mazzella Tausz.

Guy was born July 1963 to Rita and the late Gaetano G. Mazzella. He received his high school degree from Salesian High School, New Rochelle, NY, and went on to study auto mechanics.

He had a very successful career with Verizon and retired in 2019. Guy had a sharp wit and an analytical mind. He was always there to lend a helping hand in anything mechanical. His latest hobby included collecting and fixing antique pinball machines. Guy’s many interests included motorcycles and antique cars. He had an uncanny ability to recite and recall all things Yankees. He was a member of San Silverio Shrine, Dover Plains, NY.

Guy is survived by his beloved mother Rita Mazzella and the love of his life, Karin Aprea and beloved sons Nicholas Mazzella and Vincent Mazzella.

He is also survived by his loving sister Linda Mazzella Tausz and brother-in-law Timothy; devoted niece Serena Tausz and nephew Andrew Tausz.

Guy also left behind his beloved stepchildren Samantha Aprea Treadwell and Carmine Aprea; and his very cherished granddaughter Karina Treadwell, as well as many family members and longtime friends.

Visitation will take place Thursday, September 28, 2023, 3pm-7pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.

A funeral service will be Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11am at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
