Gerard Wilson Obituary

Gerard (Jerry) Wilson, 85, of Montgomery, passed away Friday April 29, 2022 after a long battle with complications from a bad fall and Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 29, 1937 to Hazel (Datz) Wilson and Raymond Wilson. Jerry graduated from Bishop Laughlin High School and received his BA from St. John’s University and a Master’s in Guidance from Hofstra University. He was married to Margaret Wilson, who survives. Jerry began work as a secondary school teacher on Long Island which led to a career as a Guidance Counselor at North Rockland High School in Thiells, NY. He was a member of the Montgomery Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus. Jerry loved his family, antique cars, the St. Louis Cardinals, the NY Giants, golf and the ocean.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Christopher (Beth), daughters Mary (Glenn) and Anne; grandchildren Allison (Andrew), Samantha (Vince), Dylan (Ally), Shelby and Sabine; and 3 great-grandchildren Ava, Adlyn and Tucker. Jerry is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Carol) and sister Susanne and 4 nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Church in Montgomery.
