Gloria Claudio Obituary

Gloria Rivera Claudio, 80, of Montgomery, New York, entered into eternal rest on June 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 20, 1946, in Puerto Rico, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Rafael Rivera and Hermenia Santiago Rivera.

Gloria began her career as a beautician before continuing her education and pursuing a career in public service. She worked in the attendance office at Franklin K. Lane High School in Queens, New York, where she was known for her dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping others.

After moving to Montgomery, New York, Gloria devoted herself to her family and embraced her role as a full-time mother. A woman of deep faith, she generously gave her time and talents to St. Mary's Church, where she was actively involved in the choir, youth group ministry, and CCD instruction. Her devotion to God and her church community touched the lives of countless families and children over the years.

Gloria's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, faith, strength, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Claudio, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, faith, and devotion to family.

Gloria is survived by her three sons, Jack Claudio, Dion Claudio, and Daniel Claudio; her cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Claudio, Kimberly Claudio, Alexa Claudio, Madisyn Claudio, Quin Claudio, Cameron Claudio, Camille Claudio, and Lochlan Claudio; and her loving siblings, Carmen Santiago, Mike Rivera, Rachel Rivera, Marcia Acevedo, and Debbie Thomson 

In addition to her husband, Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Rafael Rivera and Hermenia Santiago Rivera; her brother, Ray Rivera; and her sisters, Brunilda Falcon, Miriam Latorre and Evelyn Dejesus.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026,  at 10:30am at Holy Name of  Mary Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Holy Name of Mary Church, or the Montgomery Fire Department, PO Box 8, Montgomery NY 12549.

Gloria's legacy lives on through her family, her faith, and the many lives she touched through her generosity, compassion, and service to others. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
