Hanna (Niehaus) Kuebler

Hanna Kuebler, 92, a long-time resident of Wallkill, NY, passed on Saturday, January 3, 2026, peacefully at home. She was born on January 18, 1933, in Berensch, Germany, the daughter of Frieda and Ernst Niehaus.

Hanna immigrated to the United States in April of 1955. She loved America so much that she asked her sweetheart, Richard, to come as fast as he could to be with her. He arrived in January 1956, and they were married in November 1956. They owned Kuebler’s Delicatessen for five years in Ridgewood, NY. They then moved their family upstate to Wallkill, NY. Together Hanna and Richard operated Dick’s Industrial Catering for 22 years.

Hanna was a loving wife and mother. Family meant everything to her, and she meant everything to her family. Gardening was her passion and many gardens still bloom with flowers Hanna shared with her family and friends. Everyone enjoyed her delicious cooking, and no one ever left her house hungry. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially enjoyed Oma’s Pfannekuchen (German pancakes). We will all remember her kindness and infectious laugh. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Walden and participated in Ladies Guild and the Senior Citizen Group of Wallkill.

Survivors include daughters: Clara Haecker and her husband, Walter, of Modena, NY, Linda Curiale and her husband, Peter, of Newburgh, NY, and Heidi Kras and her husband, Bill, of Wallkill, NY; eight grandchildren: Walter, Erick, and Scott Haecker, Christina (Brandon) Conroy, Alexandra Curiale (Darren Gould), Bill (Ani), Max (Annaeliese), and Peter (Raegan); twelve great-grandchildren, Everett, Bradley, Cole, Emmy, Blake, Paige, Jensen, Jacob, Scarlet, Lilith, Johanna and Brooke.

We would like to thank Christine for her dedicated and loving care of Hanna this past year.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 8, 2026, 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2520 State Rt. 208, Walden, NY. Pastor Raymond Cummings will officiate. Burial will be in Bruynswick Rual Cemetery in Wallkill, NY.
