James R. Gould

James “Jimmy” R. Gould of Walden, NY, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, in Middletown. He was 44.

The son of James and Suzanna Matrician Gould, he was born September 30, 1981, in Plattsburgh, NY.

Jimmy was a Social Studies teacher at Valley Central Middle School. He greatly enjoyed teaching and was so proud of all his students. Jimmy was a sports enthusiast and coached at Valley Central for the girls tennis, girls basketball and softball teams. When he wasn’t coaching he enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his parents James and Suzanna Gould, maternal grandparents Crescent & Nino Sacchetti, paternal grandma Josephine Gould, aunts Juli Graffam & her husband Mark, and Dolores Gould, uncle John Matrician & his wife Laura, cousins and many special friends- too many to name.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers John Matrician and James Gould Sr.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 19, 2026, 10am-12:45pm at Goodwill Church, 2135 NY-208, Montgomery, NY.

A service will follow at 1pm at the church.

Burial will take place at Wallkill Valley Cemetery.
