James M. Wright Sr.

James M. Wright Sr. of Montgomery, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Middletown at the age of 63.

Born on April 14, 1961, in Denville, NJ, James was the son of the late Margaret Hagaman. He was also the beloved husband of the late Carol A. Wright.

James found joy in life’s simple moments—spending time with his grandchildren, casting a fishing line, or tackling a new challenge. Whether it was solving a tricky puzzle or fixing a car, he loved figuring things out and making them right. His quick wit and warm sense of humor could light up any room, and his laughter will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine Steinke, and her husband, Joseph; his son, James M. Wright Jr., and his fiancé, Eric DiNardo; and his cherished grandchildren, Kailo, Sophia, and Tyler Steinke. He also leaves behind his brother, Erick Wright, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and mother, James was preceded in death by his sisters, Charlene Pesta and Debbie Berry, and his brother, David Wright.

His presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him will never be forgotten.

Cremation will take place privately.
