Joan A. (Rhode) Garrison

Joan A. Garrison of Montgomery, NY, a longtime resident of the area, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, peacefully at Kaplan in Newburgh.  She was 86.

The daughter of the late John and Sophie Rhode, she was born July 18, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ. She was the widow of Charles N. Garrison.

Joan with her husband previously owned Country Mobil and Circleville Inn, Joan retired from the US Postal Service in Montgomery NY. She was a member of the Montgomery Historic Association, Senior Art group at Marcano Center in New Windsor NY and the Wallkill River Art School in Montgomery.  

Survivors include her daughter Charlene Fitzpatrick (Brian), daughter Ann Altman ( Jerry). Grandchildren Alison Roper (Craig) , Jeffrey Altman, Jessica Hesse( Jim), Christina Lasacchi (Anthony ) and 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
