Joanna P. Longo of Montgomery, NY passed away suddenly on Monday, March 20, 2023 in Middletown. She was 82 years old. She was born to Anthony Longo and Josephine (Signorelli) on February 28, 1941 in Mount Vernon, NY. Joanna attended Mount Vernon Public Schools and earned degrees in Business Administration from Westchester Community College and Western Connecticut State University. She was a Human Resource professional at Union Carbide and Rockland and Sullivan County ARC.
Joanna was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by brothers Anthony (Patricia) Longo of Bronxville, NY and Richard (Diane) Longo of Bluffton, SC as well as many cousins and friends. Joanna was also predeceased by her dear friend Rita Mullin. She was a very important part of her extended Mullin family and loved by all.
Joanna loved crafting, sewing, reading, golfing, doing puzzles and spending time with her Senior Club friends. She loved creating home-made games to bring to family holiday gatherings.
Joanna was a parishioner of Holy Name of Mary Church in Montgomery, NY and shared her love of faith as a Religious Education Instructor for many years. She was proud to be a Godmother to Lu Ann, Tracy, Kelly and Dennis.
One of her great passions was travelling, especially on family vacations to Rehoboth Beach and Orlando. She had a special place in her heart for Vermont. Several years ago, she joined a group on a tour of Italy. Another passion of hers was listening to classical music, but she absolutely loved the music of Neil Diamond. She was a proud, life-long member of his fan club.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 9am-11am at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30am at Holy Name of Mary Church, 89 Union St. Montgomery, NY 12549.
