Kathleen I. (Nugent) Puntar

Kathleen I. Puntar of Wallkill, NY, a longtime resident of the area, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021, at home surrounded by her beloved family.  She was 72. 

The daughter of Patrick Nugent and Catherine Botterill Nugent, she was born July 16, 1949 in Shepherd’s Bush, London, England.

Kathleen was a retired certified occupational therapy assistant for New Paltz Central School District. She was a woman of great faith and attended weekly mass as a member of St. Charles Borromeo in Gardiner.  She was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. 

Survivors include her loving husband Stephen C. Puntar at home, daughter Dina DeGroodt & Dave of Pine Bush, daughter-in-law Abby Puntar who she loved as her own, son Stephen Puntar & Joedy of Wallkill, son Scott Puntar & Jacky of Pine Bush, grandchildren who loved her more than anything in this world David, Dylan, Danny, Leila and Ava. Her devoted companion Muffy who never left her bedside.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm, at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank Street, Walden, NY 12586.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, October 22, 2021, at 11am, at St. Charles Borromeo, 2212 Route 44/55, Gardiner, NY 12525.

Cremation will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
