Laird DeGroat of Walden, NY, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Walden, NY. He was 37.
The son of Michael DeGroat and Irene Taylor, he was born May 3, 1986 in Nyack, NY.
Laird worked as an elevator mechanic for Midtown Elevators, New York, NY.
A Monroe-Woodbury High School and Lincoln Tech graduate, Laird was raised in Monroe, NY by Richard Cummings and Shirley Taylor.
Laird was an avid hunter, and he loved nothing better than fishing, riding dirt bikes, and metal detecting with his boys.
Survivors include his wife Jessie Howard; son Chayten DeGroat, son Logan DeGroat; brother Mitchell Taylor & his wife Marie, brother Michael Dellatore & his wife Debbie; 13 nieces and nephews; brother- and sister-in-law Michael C. & Shanna Sandor, brother- and sister-in-law Nicholas & Jenna Arena.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 11am-1pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.
