Lori Jean VanRiper

Lori Jean VanRiper passed peacefully on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her most. Born on October 26, 1959, at Mt. Vernon Hospital, she was the beloved daughter of Barbara (Cioffi) Leone and Marianno Leone. Lori was a wonderful and courageous woman who loved deeply with all her heart and soul. To know her was to be truly lucky, and her kindness, warmth, and strength will never be forgotten.

Lori found joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments. She had a deep love for animals, music, and the people around her. Whether through a comforting conversation, an open door, or a helping hand, Lori was always there for anyone who crossed her path in need. Her compassion and generosity touched countless lives, and she made people feel seen, loved, and cared for in a way that was uniquely her own.

She will be forever missed by her mother, Barbara (Cioffi) Leone; her daughter, Shannon Varian McLoughlin, and son-in-law David; her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Salanitri; her granddaughters, Madison Jellema, Morgan Varian, and Kaitlyn Cohn; and her grandson, Nicholas McLoughlin. She is also lovingly remembered by her Uncle Joe Marro; her cousins by birth and sisters by love, Dawn and Lynn Marro; and the many dear friends she made through the Evergreen Community and the Little Green Church, whose friendship and support brought her immense joy throughout her life.

Lori was predeceased by her sons, Matthew and Kevin McLoughlin; her father, Marianno Leone; and her Aunt Annette Marro (Leone).

Her love, laughter, gentle spirit, and caring heart will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, 1pm-3pm. A service will follow at 3pm.
