Madelin Conklin Obituary

Madelin Coe Conklin of Wallkill, NY, passed away Saturday May 1, 2021, at home with her family at her side.  She was 95.

The daughter of the late Claude Coe and Matilda Jane Starr Coe, she was born April 2, 1926 in Suffern, NY.

Madelin married the late Edwin Francis Conklin on April 16, 1946. They resided in and raised their family in Spring Valley, NY, until she retired in 1985. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Summit Park Hospital/Rockland County Infirmary, doing what she did best caring for others, and was a volunteer with the Spring Hill Ambulance Corp.

She moved to the Hamlet of Wallkill, Town of Shawangunk in 1985. She was a very caring and compassionate person, she loved children, gardening and birds.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter Nancy Hunter of Ellenville, daughter  Amy Fisher of Ellenville, daughter Karen Conklin of Ellenville, son Leroy Conklin & wife Barbara of Chester, daughter Evelyn Walden & husband LeRoy of Wallkill, sister Harriet Ruffner of Florence, SC, 15 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Edwin Francis Conklin, daughters Diana Jane Conklin, Linda Joyce Jones, Jewel Denise Conklin, son Edwin Abram Conklin and grandson Jason Matthew Walden.

A graveside service will take place Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11am at St. John’s in the Wilderness, 119 St. John's Road,  Stony Point, NY 10980.

Cremation will take place privately.
