Manuel Alberto Diaz of Newburgh, NY passed away Friday, March 28, 2025, in Newburgh. He was 62.
The son of Augusto Manuel Diaz Galvez and Ceida Estrella Leal Quintana, he was born April 8, 1962 in Santa Clara, Cuba and immigrated to Miami at the age of 8, before moving to New York with his family in 1999.
Manuel was a tenured employee at Devitts Nursery & Supply as a loader in New Windsor, NY. Many of you may know him as one of the cherished voices of Eggbert over the years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid Yankees fan and could give you the weather report at a moment’s notice. Manuel was an animal lover who cherished all of his pets greatly and had an infectious smile that lit up every room he walked into.
Manuel is survived by his wife Gloria Diaz; daughter Jessica McGowan and her husband John and their children Johnny, Paxton and Leo; son Cristopher Diaz; parents Augusto and Ceida Diaz; sister Clara Leal & Stephen Parker.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, their families and many other loving relatives and friends.
Cremation will take place privately.

A celebration of life in honor of Manuel will take place Thursday, April 3rd from 3-7pm at the Salisbury Mills Firehouse, 2128 NY-94, Salisbury Mills NY 12577.
