Marilyn J. Ruggirello of Walden, NY, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at home. She was 80 years old.
The daughter of the late Edgar Nusser and Lillian Hessen, she was born December 25, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY.
Marilyn was a wife to Louis Ruggirello, a mother to 8 children, a grandmother to 26 grandchildren and a great grandmother to 48 great grandchildren. Marilyn lived a life according to her own rules. She loved to spread the Gospel and taker her grandchildren to Disney in her motorhome. She took many trips across the country while working for Leprechaun Lines Bus Company in Newburgh, NY. Marilyn and her late husband Lou created a beautiful life together and they are finally in the place she’s talked about her whole life.
She is survived by her sister Christine Vesce of Florida; children Lou Ruggirello (son) and wife Cheryl Ruggirello, Jack Ruggirello (son) and wife, Mary Ruggirello, Karolyn Curtis (daughter) and husband Brian Curtis, Kim Grossman (daughter) and husband Jon Grossman, April Scott (daughter) and husband Ricky Scott, Lynn Lawrence (daughter) and husband Todd Lawrence, Marie Spafford (daughter) and husband William Spafford, Carolyn Sivik (daughter) and husband Michael Sivik; grandchildren Mark Lawrence, Sachelle Sullivan, Krystal Gangemi, Shannon Presna, William Spafford, Thomas Spafford, Jolie Spafford, Louis Ruggirello, Kylie Ruggirello, Cody Ruggirello, Kelsey Capone-Froio, Amy Stokes, Abigail Weimar, Cheyne DeSousa, Julia DeSousa, Jenny Curtis, Kristin Curtis, Rachel Bellarosa, Camille Nelson, Charlie Ruggirello, Ricky Scott, Joey Scott, Madison Sheeley, Wendy Sivik, Maggie Stolp; and 46 Great Grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband Louis Ruggirello; her brothers Edgar Nusser and Richard Nusser; grandson Jack Ruggirello; great grandson Kade Scott; great granddaughter Sophia Lawrence.
Visitation will be held at Millspaugh Funeral Directors 22 Bank Street Walden, NY 12586 on Sunday March 1, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Pastor Ray Cummings will officiate.
