Michael Peter Francis

Michael Peter Francis, passed away Wednesday January 15, 2025, in Arizona. He was 73.

Michael was born June 14, 1951 in Ellenville, NY to James and Irene Francis.

He grew up in Mohegan Lake and graduated from Lakeland High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. On May 27, 1972 he married his high school sweetheart Karen Mitchell. Together they raised their two sons Christopher and James.

Michael retired from Verizon Phone Co. He served as Captain in Columbian Engine 131 and volunteered as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 131 in Peekskill, NY. He enjoyed cooking delicious meals for his family. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his two sons Christopher and James.

Michael is survived by his wife of 52 years Karen Francis, sister Janet McLay and husband Elmer, brother Paul Francis and wife Anna, grandsons Hudson, Jules, Jayden and James, and daughter-in-law Cari Ann, nephews Stuart Francis and wife Jordan, Michael Hussey, and nieces Melissa Cuomo and husband Robert and Rebecca Hussey.

Visitation will take place Friday, January 31,2025, 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.

A service will be Saturday February 1, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Wallkill Valley Cemetery.
