Michael Galloway

Michael Galloway of Brooklyn, CT, died April 28, 2022 surrounded by his family. He passed away from cancer at age 69.

The son of the late Robert Galloway and Leila Ronk, he was born February 9, 1953 in Newburgh, NY.

At the age of 19, Michael enlisted in the US Navy. He took great pride in serving his country and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He first served during Vietnam, participated in 5 sea duty tours, and received numerous commendations and awards. Michael worked at Loos & Co, Inc. in Pomfret Ct as a machinist for over 26 years.

He was a member of the Pomfret Rod & Gun Club. An avid hunter and fisherman. Loving father and grandfather. Everyone who met Michael was instantly drawn to his caring and loving soul.

Survivors include his brother Stephen Galloway and his wife Florence Galloway of Montgomery, NY. Stepbrother Robert Brown of Coos Bay, OR. Stepsister Susan Dunphy of Middletown, NY. Son Bryan Galloway and wife Melissa Galloway of South Korea; Daughter Tara DeRonda and fiancé Jeffery Schipper of Saugerties NY; Daughter, Mariah Chapman and husband Christopher Chapman of Woodstock, CT; Daughter Veronica Frye and husband Shawn Frye of Galloway, NJ; Son Cameron Galloway of Plain Field CT; Stepson Grant Combies of Plain Field CT. Grandchildren; Madison, Ethan, Ashlynn, Kathryn, Jacob, Hazel, Bentley, and Blake.

He was predeceased by Stepmother Barbara Galloway and brother James Galloway.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2022, 11:00 AM – 1:30PM at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St. Walden, NY.

Graveside services will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Route 52, Walden, NY. Rev. James Van Houten will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pomfret Rod and Gun Club or Hartford Healthcare at Home.
