Michael F. Mont

Michael F. Mont of Montgomery, NY passed away Monday, March 28th 2022 in Newburgh, NY. He was 64. 

The son of Giraldo Mont and Maria (Sabadi) Mont, he was born March 1 1958 in Bronx, NY. 

Michael loved music and going to concerts, taking pictures, feeding the birds, and, above all, his grandson, Martin. Michael enjoyed being a volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 386 spending several weeks at Camp Ranachqua summer camp chaperoning over the years for his sons, each of which achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He would bring his telescope and show the boys the planets and constellations in the night sky. He also donated a dozen chess boards and taught the boys how to play chess. Michael also enjoyed assisting with Cub Scout Pack 30, especially cutting Pinewood Derby cars for the boys. Michael always brought smiles and laughter to everyone he met and interacted with, and he will be greatly missed by all. 

Survivors include his wife Marianne, sons Michael J. Mont (Shirley Liu), Matthew J. Mont, and Mark A. Mont, and sister, Maria Mont, nephew Joseph and nieces Melanie, Jessica and Jaime, and the apple of his eye, his grandson Martin. 

Visitation will be Friday, April 1 2022, 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 2, 2022, 10am at St. Paul’s Church, 2800 NY-17K, Bullville, NY 10915.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Washingtonville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
