Paul Stewart Wilson

Paul Stewart Wilson passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the age of 84. He was born on October 29, 1938, in West Hempstead, NY. 

As a young man Paul gained an appreciation for the various landscapes of New York, thanks to his work as a bank examiner that allowed him to travel across the state. He married Margot Leyendecker on April 14, 1962 and together they settled in Poughkeepsie, NY, where they raised a family of four beautiful children: Kimberly, Jeffrey, Denise and Brian. He had a successful career as a municipal banker in Orange County where he forged lasting relationships amongst many clients, colleagues, and competitors. He had a deep love for the Hudson Valley and will be remembered as a lifelong Jets, Mets and Marist Red Foxes fan.

Paul is predeceased by his parents Stanley and Helen, his brother Robert and daughter Kim.

Paul is survived by his children Jeff, Denise and Brian and their mother Margot. He was a loving grandfather to Samantha and Benjamin Ferrier, and Daniel and Hannah Wilson.

A visitation period will be held at 10:45am followed by funeral service at 11:30am on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 55 Wilbur Blvd., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial to follow immediately after the service at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery followed by reception at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
