Phillip John Andrew Callahan

Phillip John Andrew Callahan of Montgomery, NY, a longtime resident of the area, passed away suddenly Monday, February 15, 2021, in Montgomery.  He was 59. 

The son of Andrew and Joy Marie Lesage Callahan, he was born December 1,1961, in Spangler, PA.

Phillip was a truck driver for Metroplex, in Harriman, NY. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Washingtonville. Family always came first to Phil. He loved to make people laugh and could lighten any mood. He enjoyed boating and hunting and really was a jack of all trades. There was never a time you couldn’t depend on him, he was there for so many people and would do anything to help others. 

Survivors include his wife Janet at home, son Eric Johnston & Jamie of Montgomery, son Brendan Johnston of Montgomery, daughter Ashlee Callahan & Bradley Vellenga of Montgomery; grandchildren Hayden & Rowen Johnston; sister  Michele Callahan & Paul Antonucci of Cornwall, brother Andrew Callahan & wife Debbie of Cornwall, sister Della Melrose & husband Gary of Cornwall; nieces & nephews Patrick, Matthew & Kate Callahan, Morgan Lee Georges , Megan Melrose-Lucia; and good friends Phil Albert, Jimmy Lynch & Mike Sacco.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 3pm-7pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.

A funeral service will take place Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 11am at the funeral home.

Cremation will take place privately.
