Robert L. Gates

Robert L. Gates 81 passed away Monday December 5, 2022 at his home in Wallkill, NY.

The son of the late Richard Gates and Avis Heater Gates, he was born October 11, 1941 in Middletown, NY.

Robert served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked in maintenance for the Valley Central School district in Montgomery, NY.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Carolyn of 51 years, his two daughters Kimberly Grahn and Victoria Faia along with sons-in-law Matthew Grahn and Richard Faia Jr., his six grandchildren who brought so much joy to his life, Matthew Grahn Jr. along with his wife Morgan, Sean Grahn, Ryan Grahn, Alexis Faia, Gabriela Faia and Brielle Faia; brother Dennis Gates, sister Muriel Horton along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Richard & Edward and sisters Linda & Patricia.

Robert loved fishing, old cars, woodworking, camping and traveling with friends and family.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 10, 2022 10:00-11:00am at Wallkill Reformed Church, 45 Bridge St., Wallkill, NY 12589.

A funeral service will follow at 11:00 at the church. Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Wallkill Reformed Church.
