Robin Kleister Reynolds of Montgomery, NY, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, in Montgomery. She was 64.
The daughter of the late George Kleister and Caroline Raute Kleister, she was born August 25, 1961, in Hackensack, NJ.
Robin was the widow of Gene Reynolds.
She was employed at the Lexington Center for Recovery in Stone Ridge, N.Y. and previously employed at Elant, Inc. as an executive secretary. She was a longtime member of the Montgomery Fire Department where she served many roles including department secretary, company treasurer, and past President of the Fleet Hook and Ladder, and was the first female Captain of the Montgomery Fire Police. She was also a member of the OCVFA, where she served as treasurer, OC Chiefs, serving as financial secretary, VFPASNY, where she was the first female Area 2 Vice President, FASNY, FPA Hudson Valley, NYSA Fire Chiefs, HV VF Association and Fire Chaplains of NYS. She was also a member and past Matron of the Eastern Star #163 Queen Esther, Middletown, NY.
She is survived by her brother Richard J. Kleister and wife Donna; her niece, Heidi Kleister, aunt and Godmother, Sylvia Kleister; several cousins; step-son Robert Reynolds, Sr. and wife Cindy; step-grandson Robert Reynolds, Jr. and wife Nicole; great grandchildren Ryann Reynolds and Nash Reynolds; cousin- Rose Simonson and nephew, Richard Reynolds.
Along with her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by step-sons, Eugene Charles Reynolds Jr. and Richard Reynolds.
Visitation will be held March 11, 2026, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549. A firematic service will take place at 7pm.
A service will be held March 12, 2026, at 11am at the funeral home. Rev. James VanHouten will officiate.
Burial will follow at Hurleyville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Richie Reynolds Memorial Fund, Montgomery Fire Department or the charity of one’s choice.
