Shawna J. Dolan

Shawna Jean Dolan of Troy, NY, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023. She was 37. The daughter of Jean and Mark Dolan was born December 25th, 1985 in Newburgh NY. 

Shawna graduated from Valley Central High School. Shawna worked at Sears in Newburgh Mall as an assistant manager. She was an animal lover and had many pets including Cherry, her dog, 4 cats and 2 guinea pigs. She was always taking in strays who needed a home.

Shawna loved music and especially enjoyed live events, which she saw many of. She was a lifelong fan of the NY Jets football and Boston Bruins Ice Hockey. She cherished her friends and was always there for anyone in need.   

Survivors include her mother Jean Dolan of Walden, NY, grandmother Helen Gihr of Pine Bush, life partner Doug Carvell  of Troy, aunt Connie Gihr (Bo)of Pine Bush and aunt Dawn Sears (Max) of Smithville TX. She is also survived by her half-brother David Jurena of Nebraska, as well as several cousins.  

She was predeceased by her father, Mark Dolan, grandfather William Gihr and grandparents Fredrick and Ruth Dolan. 

Visitation will be Wednesday September 27, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St. Walden, NY 12586. 

Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
