Shirley Mae Gillen

Shirley Mae Gillen of Middletown, NY, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021.  She was 88.

The daughter of the late David Vance and Pearl York Vance, she was born October 31, 1932 in Warwick, NY.

Shirley worked as a nurse’s aid for Orange County, Goshen, NY.

She was a member of the Bloomingburg Methodist Church and the Bloomingburg Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her brother John Vance & wife Nancy of Montgomery, NY, sister Clara and husband Ed Pantley of Florida, daughter Angelina and son-in-law Ernie Hacker of Indiana; grandchildren Scott Wilson Jr. of NY, Cynthia Decker of PA, Tiffany Rosario of NY, Ricky Decker of NY, Kacie-Ann Douglas of NY; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by daughter Angela Wilson, husband Charles Gillen, first husband Albert Comfort, sisters Emma Miller and Sarah Decker, brothers David and Joseph Vance.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 19th at 11:30am at the Walden Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Walden Baptist Church, 38 Bank St. Walden, NY 12586.
