Theodore X. Schmidt

Theodore X. Schmidt, of Montgomery, NY passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was 94.

The son of the late Xavier Francis Schmidt and Elizabeth Armbruster Schmidt, he was born October 16, 1929 in Newark, NJ.

Theodore worked as a mechanic for Central Hudson, Newburgh, NY. He served in the United States Navy from 1947-1951.

He was the widower of Kathryn Blizard Schmidt.

Survivors include his daughter Jean M. Kirtio & husband John, daughter Mary J. Eisnor & husband Donald, son Peter Schmidt & wife Lori, son Ted Schmidt, Jr., daughter Irene Bosch & husband Donald; 10 Grandchildren Richard, John, Jason, Daniel, Frank, Sara, Elizabeth, Kate, Eric and Matthew; 13 Great Grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Bond and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers Herman Schmidt, George Schmidt, Xavier Schmidt, John Schmidt and sisters Marie Ohlson and Augusta Forstner.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11am at Holy Name of Mary Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery, NY 12549.

Internment of ashes will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan.
