Theresa Collette

Theresa Collette of Walden, NY, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in Campbell Hall Nursing Home, after fighting a long battle with dementia.  She was 78 years old.

The daughter of Thomas Joseph Hughes and Rose Ryan, she was born July 1,1944 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the fifth child of seven children, five preceded her in death. Terry married William Richard Collette October 8, 1967, in Brooklyn NY and three children were born from this union.

Theresa retired as a key punch operator for City University of New York and relocated with her husband to Walden NY, to enjoy the country life.

She was a member of Most Precious Blood Church in Walden.

Terry loved to cook, watch home improvement shows, garden, and quilt. However, her favorite thing to do was spend time with family.

Terry was blessed with ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Terry adored her grandchildren and spent her life building wonderful memories that will carry on.

Survivors include her son William Collette Jr., daughter Donna McMahon, and son and daughter in law James and Dawn Collette, her brother Paul Hughes, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband William Collette, granddaughter Holly McMahon, son in law Brian McMahon, daughter in law Donna Collette, her brothers Thomas, John, Joseph, and James and sister Mary Kelly, as well as her parents Thomas and Rose Hughes.

Visitation will be Monday, August 29, 2022, 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm, at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 10:30am Most Precious Blood, Walnut St., Walden, NY.

Burial will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Dementia Society of America.
